Making Gravity Bong Bowls Using Three Different Methods

Gallant Gravity

Gravity bongs are simple and efficient smoking devices. If you’ve used one before, you know a small amount of herbs can go a long way!

Typically made from a bottle and a container of water, gravity bongs can be created from almost any bottle. The bowls for gravity bongs can also be crafted in various ways. In this article, we’ll explore some of the most popular methods for making gravity bong bowls.

If you need a refresher on how gravity bongs are made, you can read about it here.

Types of Gravity Bong Bowls

While there are many ways to create a gravity bong bowl, we’ll cover the three most popular and easy-to-make methods. These methods require minimal materials and can be made in just a few seconds.

Some methods are higher-quality, longer-lasting, and cleaner than others. We’ll also discuss how different bottles influence which bowl to make.

The three main methods are using tinfoil, using tool sockets, and using a glass bowl through a cap.

Tinfoil Geeb Bowl Method

tinfoil gravity bong bowl

The simplest and most common gravity bong bowl is made from tinfoil. To make one, fit a piece of tinfoil over the mouth of the bottle and push down to form a bowl shape. Then, poke a small hole in the middle.

While this method is simple, quick, and easy to access, it’s not recommended. Tinfoil can be toxic when heated and is difficult to remove when hitting the bong. There are better options available.

Socket Geeb Bowl Method

A better alternative is using a tool socket. A common 10mm socket can be found at most hardware stores or in household toolboxes. This method is slightly less accessible and a bit more difficult than the tinfoil method, but it is much safer and more durable.

To make a socket bowl, you’ll need:

  • A 10mm socket.
  • A bottle and cap.
  • A lighter.

Step 1: Clean your socket with soap and water. Then, remove the bottle cap from your bottle.

Step 2: Holding the bottle cap at an angle, use your lighter to heat the center of the cap.

Step 3: Once it starts melting, push the socket through the center of the cap. Clean the socket again thoroughly.

Step 4: Screw the bottle cap back onto your bottle.

And that’s all it takes! The bowl can now be packed, and the cap unscrewed when taking a hit.

Glass Geeb Bowl Method

A variation of the socket method is the glass bowl method. Here, you repeat the same steps as the socket method but use a 14mm or 18mm glass bowl instead.

The glass bowl provides a smoother pull and holds herbs better than the socket. It’s simple to make, easy to use, and is a step above the other options.

Other Methods/Different Bottles

These are the three most common DIY gravity bong bowls. Each is quick and relatively easy to make with items around the house. Our preferred method is the glass bowl. It’s easy to make, slightly nicer, and cleaner than the alternatives.

The biggest downside is having to burn new caps every time you use a new bottle, and they don’t work with glass bottles. If you want to make a glass gravity bong, tinfoil does work as a bowl, but it has too many negatives to be a reliable option.

While these options are relatively cheap and easy to make, they aren’t great for long-term use. They’re often made with parts that shouldn’t be smoked with, break easily, and are of low quality.

Fortunately, there is a bowl designed specifically for gravity bongs: the Gallant Greeb.

The Gallant Greeb Bowl

The Gallant Greeb is a stainless-steel gravity bong bowl. Its tapered shape and weighted design allow it to slip in and out of almost any bottle with ease.

Made of medical-grade stainless steel, it’s safe to use and prevents overheating during use. It comes in multiple sizes and is the only gravity bong bowl you’ll ever need. It can also be custom engraved with images and letters.

The Pre-Made Glass Setup

Summary

Gravity bongs have made a big comeback in popularity over the past few years. They’re efficient, easy to use, and deliver hard-hitting results.

With a bit of creativity and some supplies around the house, you can create your own gravity bong bowls from tinfoil, sockets, or glass bowls. For a more durable and safer option, consider the Gallant Greeb or a pre-made glass setup.
